Colistin belongs to the polymyxins, which has a strong and rapid bactericidal activity against gram- ve bacteria specially Salmonella & Escherichia coli.
Has no cross-resistance with other antimicrobials, produce its therapeutic effects with no aid of body defense, No plasmidic resistance

Composition:

Each 1ml Contains:
Colistin sulphate 83.33 mg Equi. to 66.66 mg colistin base

Indications:

Treatment and metaphylaxis of gastrointestinal infections caused by gram negative susceptible to Colistin e.g.
Noninvasive E.Coli, Salmonella, pseudomonas, Shigella, Haemophilus and Enterobacter in poultry
Claves: Colienteritis and calf diarrhea.
Lambs: lamb diarrhea and Salmonellosis

Dosage:

Chickens and turkeys: 75 000 IU of colistin per kg body weight
daily for 3-5 (3.75 ml / 10 litre )drinking water
Calves, lambs, pigs: 100 000 IU of colistin per kg body weight daily for 3-5 (5ml / 10 litre ) drinking water or milk replacer
Any medicated water which is not consumed within 24 hours should be discard
Any medicated milk which is not consumed within 3 hours should be discarded.
